What we collect and why
If you phone us, message us on WhatsApp or send us a message through our contact form, we use the details you give us (such as your name, contact details and information about your foot problem) to reply and arrange your appointment. Clinical records are kept to provide safe care and meet professional record-keeping requirements.
Lawful basis
We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, the steps needed to provide treatment you request, and, for health information, the provision of health care under UK GDPR Article 9(2)(h).
Sharing and retention
We do not sell your data. We share it only where needed to provide care (for example with your GP, with your consent) or where the law requires. Records are kept for the periods recommended for healthcare records, then securely deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Services this website uses
When you visit this website, your browser connects to two outside services. Like any web request, this shares your IP address, browser details and the page you are viewing with them.
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which supplies the fonts the site uses. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Saasmation (builder.saasmation.com), the platform our website is built and managed with, which loads a small script on each page and handles messages sent through our contact form.
We do not use these services to track you or to show you adverts.
Our contact form
When you send a message through the contact form on our website, it is handled by Saasmation, the platform our website runs on, and delivered to the Footmech inbox by email. A copy also goes to our website support team so they can make sure messages arrive. The form records the details you type in, the page you sent it from and the time, and runs an automatic spam check. We use what you send only to reply to you and arrange care.
WhatsApp and email
If you contact us by WhatsApp or email, your message is also handled by that service: WhatsApp is run by Meta, and our email is handled by our email provider. Please only send what you are comfortable sharing that way. We are always happy to talk through health details by phone or in clinic.
