Functional Movement Screen (FMS)

The Functional Movement Screen looks at seven fundamental movement patterns to find limitations, imbalances between sides and potential injury risks, before they turn into problems. Iain is FMS Level 1 and Level 2 certified.

The seven movements

  1. Deep squat
  2. Hurdle step
  3. In-line lunge
  4. Shoulder mobility
  5. Active straight leg raise
  6. Trunk stability push-up
  7. Rotary stability

Scoring these movements shows where your body is restricted or compensating, and gives a baseline to measure progress against.
